Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips Or your favorite mix-ins
  • Food coloring (green, purple, and orange) For decorating
  • Icing or edible glitter For finishing touches

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Mix in the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add your dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until integrated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and any other mix-ins you desire. Divide the dough into portions and add food coloring to each if desired.
  7. Use a tablespoon to scoop out cookie dough and roll into balls or shape them as desired.
Baking
  1. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before decorating.
  3. Decorate with icing, sprinkles, or edible glitter as creative as you like.
Serving
  1. Once cooled and decorated, serve the cookies and enjoy with friends and family.

Notes

Chill dough for 30 minutes to maintain shape. For chewy cookies, take them out when slightly underbaked. Use high-quality chocolate chips for better flavor.
