Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the fresh peaches and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle half a cup of sugar over the peaches and toss lightly. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
Making the Cobbler Batter
- In another bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of milk, 0.5 cup of sugar, 0.5 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Melt 0.5 cup of butter and stir it into the batter until completely combined.
Combining and Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Spoon the peaches along with their juices on top of the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Finishing Touch
- Let the cobbler sit for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use fresh, ripe peaches for best results. You can prepare the peach filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Avoid using overripe or underripe peaches.
