  • 1/2 cup butter Melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 ripe peaches thinly sliced Fresh peaches preferred
For the Cake Batter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a round cake pan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar until smooth and arrange the sliced peaches on top.
Mixing the Batter
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Add vanilla extract and melted butter, mixing thoroughly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture along with the milk. Stir until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter over the arranged peaches in the pan, ensuring it covers the fruit evenly.
  2. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully invert onto a serving plate.
Serving
  1. Serve warm or at room temperature. Consider topping with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Choose ripe but firm peaches for best results. Allow cake to cool before inverting to prevent sticking.
