Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a round cake pan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar until smooth and arrange the sliced peaches on top.
Mixing the Batter
- In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and eggs until well combined. Add vanilla extract and melted butter, mixing thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture along with the milk. Stir until just combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter over the arranged peaches in the pan, ensuring it covers the fruit evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully invert onto a serving plate.
Serving
- Serve warm or at room temperature. Consider topping with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
