  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  8. Press spooky sprinkles or candy eyes into the tops of the dough balls if using.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before baking. Adjust sugar for sweetness preference. Explore variations by adding pumpkin spice, nuts, or stuffing with candy.
