Method
Preparation
- Wash and remove stems from the grapes.
- In a blender, combine the washed grapes, apple juice (or water), lemon juice, and honey (if using). Blend until completely smooth.
- Optionally, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother texture.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the grape mixture onto it, spreading it into an even layer about 1/8 inch thick.
Drying
- Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature (around 140°F or 60°C) or set your dehydrator to a similar temperature.
- Dry the fruit leather for 4 to 8 hours, checking for doneness.
- The leather should feel pliable and not sticky to the touch.
Storage and Serving
- Once cooled, cut the fruit leather into strips or squares and roll them up in parchment paper for storage.
Notes
Store the fruit leather in an airtight container. It can last up to 1-2 weeks at room temperature and up to a month in the refrigerator. Adjust sweetness based on grape variety.
