Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients.
  6. Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Scoop the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t overmix the batter when incorporating dry ingredients to keep the cupcakes light.
