Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, ground nuts, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined and the mixture holds together.
- Firmly press the crust mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, and optional lime zest until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the filling over the crust in your baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the filling is set.
Cooling
- Allow the bars to cool at room temperature.
- Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld.
Serving
- Slice the bars into squares, and garnish with extra lime zest or slices if desired.
