Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder Provides the rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar Sweetens the brownies and balances the cocoa.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Adds to the fudgy texture and rich flavor.
  • 2 large Eggs Give structure and moisture to the brownies.
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour For the base of the brownie, adding a bit of density.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Enhances the chocolate flavor with a touch of warmth.
Seasonings
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt A pinch enhances the sweet and chocolate flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder Though not always necessary, helps the brownies rise slightly.
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips For extra chocolatey goodness.
  • 1/2 cup Nuts (walnuts or pecans) For added crunch.
  • 1/2 cup Creamy frosting To make them even richer, add a layer before topping with sprinkles.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar and whisk until well combined.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. (Optional) Stir in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool in the pan before frosting if desired.
  10. Top with colorful sprinkles, cut into squares, and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the brownies fudgy. Use high-quality cocoa powder for best flavor. Let the brownie batter sit for a few minutes before baking for a crackly top.
