Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Filling
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
Icing Ingredients
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your bundt pan to ensure easy release after baking.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until well incorporated. Gradually add the dry ingredients to this mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon to create the filling.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the batter. Top with the remaining batter.
  2. Place your bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool for about 15 minutes in the pan, then invert it onto a serving plate.
Icing
  1. Whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.

Notes

Don't overmix the batter, let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan, and consider adding nuts or raisins for additional flavor. Store leftovers loosely covered at room temperature for up to three days.
