Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
- Bake for about 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- While the brownies are cooling, hull and slice the fresh strawberries.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Once the brownies are completely cool, arrange the sliced strawberries on top and drizzle the melted chocolate over them.
- Let the chocolate set for a few minutes before serving.
