Ingredients

Cake Ingredients
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz) Baked according to package directions
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter Softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (or milk)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating and Assembly
  • 24 pieces cake pop sticks
  • 12 ounces white chocolate Divided into 4 oz and 8 oz portions
  • Sprinkles of your choice

Method

Preparation
  1. Bake the vanilla cake mix according to the package's instructions. Once baked, let it cool completely in the pan.
  2. Once the cake is cool, crumble it into a large bowl using your hands. The finer the crumbs, the smoother the cake pops will be.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the crumbled cake, softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until you achieve a dough-like consistency that holds together when pressed.
  4. Using your hands, form small balls of the mixture, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Melt the 4 oz portion of white chocolate and dip the end of each cake pop stick into the melted chocolate before inserting it into each ball.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up the cake pops.
Coating
  1. Melt the remaining 8 oz of white chocolate. Dip each chilled cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  2. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then sprinkle your chosen toppings over the pops before the chocolate hardens.
  3. Insert the pops into a foam block or stand to allow the chocolate to set completely.
Serving
  1. Once hardened, the cake pops are ready to be served and enjoyed!

Notes

Store your cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for longer storage, but note that it may affect the texture.
