Ingredients
  

For the Blackberry Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries Make sure they are ripe.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Optional, for extra sweetness.
For the Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Serving
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream Optional, for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the blackberries under cool water and gently pat them dry.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the blackberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar if they need extra sweetness.
Making the Crumble
  1. In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly yet holds together when pressed.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spread the blackberries evenly in a baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the blackberries.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbly.
Serving
  1. Allow the crumble to cool slightly for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  2. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Consider adding chopped nuts to the topping or experimenting with different fruits. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
